Kinetica Accelerates Global Expansion In Australia & New Zealand in Response to Strong Market Demand

Kinetica, a leading Active Analytics Platform for the extreme data economy, announced it is expanding its global footprint in the Australia and New Zealand markets today. With offices opening in Melbourne, Australia, the company is building on the triple-digit growth it has experienced in the APJ region and will add to its already established operations including Japan, Indonesia, and Singapore.

Australia and New Zealand offer significant growth market opportunities for early technology adopters from banking to telecommunications. Kinetica’s extensive work with Indonesia’s leading mobile carrier, Telkomsel, and the market’s largest digital payments platform, OVO, a subsidiary of the Lippo Group, as well as other brands including Softbank in Japan has subsequently pushed the company to grow its presence in the region on an accelerated timeline.

“Government agencies and enterprises across Australia and New Zealand are primed for applying active analytics. The region has more than its share of nimble early adopters ready to use NVIDIA GPUs to speed business growth and optimize efficiency,” said Paul Appleby, CEO at Kinetica. “We are already taking on the massive, transformative shift from passive analytics to active data analytics with our regional customers, from autonomous vehicle use cases to speeding pharmaceutical research to network optimization and retail personalization, and our expanded presence in region will contribute significantly to this effort.”

“Many businesses across our region face data challenges on a massive scale, and we work with them to find solutions to combine and analyze billions of live and historical data points continuously and automatically in order to act immediately,” said Stuart Scotis, Partner, Deloitte. “We are pleased to be working with Kinetica to implement cutting edge data solutions that address the diverse needs of our clients, including streaming and historical data analysis, location awareness, and predictive analytics using AI and machine learning.”

As part of this strategic expansion, the company has hired industry veteran Stuart Fisher as its Asia-Pacific President to augment Kinetica’s presence across the region, building out sales, pre-sales, technical support, and Kinetica’s international partner ecosystem. Fisher will be joined by three proven industry executives in Australia: Scott Hubbard, Regional VP Australia & NZ, Ridhav Mahajan, Solution Engineer Director, and Brett Ryan, Account Executive. These additions to the Asia-Pacific team at Kinetica are an important milestone in the company’s international expansion strategy, establishing strong leadership to meet increasing local market demand and better serve customers in the region.

“This expansion in Australia and New Zealand comes at an opportune time as the region, known for digital disruption and rapid progress, angles to take full advantage of data technologies including AI and machine learning,” said Stuart Fisher, President Asia-Pacific, Kinetica. “Our new regional offices in Australia will be critical to expanding Kinetica’s capabilities into new markets and will support the continued momentum we’ve seen throughout the region, including Singapore and Indonesia.”

“Oracle is rapidly expanding our cloud footprint and open cloud ecosystem in Australia and New Zealand, partnering with Kinetica in the AI/ML space,” said David Hicks, Vice President, Worldwide ISV Cloud Business Development, Oracle. “You can easily deploy Kinetica on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to help address the problems of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, from 5G network optimization to dynamic inventory replenishment.”

“We are seeing GPU-accelerated computing take off across industries in the APJ region, from telco to finance, retail to our public sector,” said Raymond Teh, Vice President, Asia Pacific at NVIDIA. “Technologies like NVIDIA RAPIDS and analytics solutions from Kinetica will help customers redefine the data science landscape across the globe.”

The Kinetica Active Analytics Platform brings together all key elements of active analytics in a unified platform: historical data analytics, streaming data analytics, location intelligence, and AI and ML-powered predictive analytics. The Kinetica Platform includes a distributed, in-memory, GPU-accelerated database that utilizes a powerful combination of CPUs and NVIDIA GPUs to analyze massive, complex datasets with millisecond response times. In a recent independent technical review by InfoWorld, the Kinetica Active Analytics Platform was also recognized for excellence with a rare 4.5-star rating and received the sought-after InfoWorld Editor’s Choice award.
